Included:
Accommodation — Hotel-like double occupancy rooms with en suite bathrooms. Each NCTC lodge is named for an icon of conservation and is filled with history. Common rooms provide space for socializing and relaxing.
Meals — In a word -- delicious! Students will be provided with a full meal plan with plenty of choices at the NCTC dining hall. Dietary preferences or restrictions are no problem.
Activities — Connect to nature and place every day traversing the NCTC campus or optional early morning birdwatching, nature walks, and yoga. Our river trip on the Potomac is a highlight of the Sc3 experience.
Student-Centered Agenda — Project-based. Interactive. Fun. Sc3 is an applied sustainability program that focuses on the application of ideas to practical problems.
Open Space Collaboration — A unique feature of Sc3 - much of the agenda at Sc3 is student-driven to focus on environmental topics that are of most interest to the Student Fellows.
Speakers & Workshops — World-renowned experts from the government, non profit, and private sectors empower you with the knowledge, skills & tools to influence change in your homes, schools, community, and beyond.
Residential Staff/Faculty — Sc3 Faculty and Staff reside in the dorms. With a student-to-staff/faculty ratio of 10:3, someone is always around!
Pre-Program Materials and Support — Students and parents receive comprehensive and prompt pre-program support.
Not Included:
Personal expenses — such as snacks, souvenirs, and other incidentals.
Transportation — Bus, train, or plane to/from Washington, DC is not included. NCTC shuttles are available to pick up Sc3 students at Union Station and Dulles Airport in Washington DC on Sunday, and bring them to the NCTC Campus for a nominal extra fee and return students to Union and Dulles at the end of the program.
