Congratulations on your acceptance to the Sc3 Congress!

We look forward to speaking with you in the coming months and days leading up to the Congress, and to meeting you in person. Meanwhile, we encourage you and your family to review and complete the five (5) forms below, as soon as possible upon your acceptance, to ensure your place as a 2012 Sc3 Fellow. Your spot is not guaranted until we receive your Required Forms. Also, look at the out the FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions). They may provide useful information when preparing for your Sc3 experience.  Below you will also find travel and logistical information, and more.

Required Sc3 Forms

The following 5 Forms MUST be submitted BEFORE your arrival to Sc3, within one month after notification of your acceptance, or you will NOT be able to register.

Fees:

The $600 program fee to attend the 5-day Sc3 Environmental Leadership Congress covers room and board at the Sc3 campus, the premier state of the art national training facility for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Fees also cover transportation from Union Station (train) or Dulles Airport to the NCTC Facility in Shepherdstown West Virginia, and back. Travel to DC is not included. (A limited number of Scholarships are available upon request. Contact Lois Johnson-Mead for more information)

Program Dates:

Faculty Fellows: Friday, June 22 (evening) to Friday, June 29th, 2012

Student Fellows: Sunday, June 24th to Friday, June 29th, 2012

Arrival/Departure:

As you start making your plans, please note that Student Registration & Orientation will be Sunday, June 24th between 1 pm to 4pm. For those arriving prior to this, lunch will be available from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.  The first activity will begin at 4:00 pm.

On Friday, June 29, the conference will end with an optional lunch (or brown-bag lunch to go) at 12:00 pm.

Students should make every effort to plan their travel to NCTC based on a Sunday noon arrival.  If students traveling from a different time zone need to arrive on Saturday, we are able to accomodate them at NCTC.  However, NCTC asks for an additional $150 to cover room and board.

TRAVEL INFORMATION:

As soon as you know your travel plans, please submit your information to the On-line Sc3 Travel Form so we can plan for your arrival and departure.

By Plane:

If you are flying to Sc3, you should fly into Dulles Airport (IAD). We will have free shuttle buses running from Dulles to the NCTC campus at 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 24th. Please plan your flight around these times, and be sure to give yourself some breathing room in case of delays. SC3 adult staff will be at Dulles to assist students.

On Friday, June 29th, we will run shuttles back to Dulles starting at 12:00 pm, so return flights should be booked for 3:00 pm or after. See more below about the shuttles.

By Train:

If you plan to travel by train, you should arrive at Union Station in Washington, DC before 3:30 pm. A shuttle will be available to take you to Sc3 according to your arrival. We will schedule exact times based on your responses and provide those times to you in the near future. On Friday, June 29th, we will run shuttles back to Union starting at 1:00 pm, so return tickets should be booked for 4:30 pm or after.

By Car:

If you are driving to Sc3, please see the directions available on the NCTC website.

Shuttles between Dulles Airport or Union Station and NCTC:

All shuttle service will be provided by Reston Limousine Service and will also display USFWS/NCTC identification. Picture identification is required to board the shuttle.  The Shuttle departs on time. SC3 Faculty will be stationed at Dulles Airport main terminal and Union Station with a list of all travelers coming into each location, so please make sure that you make your travel information known to us ASAP by filling out the Online Sc3 Travel Form also listed above.

NOTE: For shuttles from Dulles Airport main terminal to NCTC, follow the signs to baggage pickup and proceed to the appropriate baggage carousel to claim your luggage. Once you have claimed your luggage, proceed to the airport exit directly across from luggage carousels 2 & 3, proceed up the exit ramp and through Door #7 to the shuttle pick up location.
