Organize A Campaign
The THIRD STEP toward taking action is to Organize Your Campaign.
STEP 1 : PLAN YOUR PROJECT
* Start talking about an issue to address. See if anyone has knowledge about history of that issue.
* Pick Short and Long term Goals
* Record Goals in Goals Document
* Figure out what resources you have as students in that region - media, time, connections
* Discuss strategy (see your Individual Commitment Form) to accomplish your goal
* Select duties for each goal - team coordinator, volunteer coordinator, media outreach, etc. Allow room for creativity while establishing a tangible structure
STEP 2 - COMMUNICATE
* Get to know each other! What has each person done in his or her school? Would anyone be interested in, and have time for, Sc3/GSA regional positions?
* Assign a secretary to take notes of meeting.
* Write down contact information for each student in the region
* Start discussing a communication plan for the year
* Start thinking ahead to the next regional meeting about issues and goals for your region for the 2011-2012 school year
STEP 3: COMPLETE THE PROJECT PLAN (Timeline and Strategy and Tactics)
* Come Up With Slogan
* Discuss narrative to communicate your project to your audiences
* Discuss tactics (see your Individual Commitment Form) to accomplish your goal
* Set a Timeline of Tactics, remember you want to stay consistent and persistent
* Record roles in the Communication Plan Document
* Set up online structure for region. ex. google group, email list-serve, Facebook group
* Set up next meeting for the summer for your region.
