About GSA Programs

File 155 GSA programs integrate education and action, engage the broadest range of stakeholders to confront the environmental issues facing our world, and demonstrate the benefits of making sustainable choices. Through the GSA, Schools can set climate and sustainability goals, measure progress, share best practices, and inspire change.

GSA programs recognize the leadership role that students and their schools play to help solve our complex environmental challenges and protect our shared future. Our programs  provide a menu of opportunities that engage all members of the school community -- students, administrators, faculty, plant managers, business officers and parents.

Across generational, geopolitical and socioeconomic boundaries, GSA's grassroots and institutional incentive programs build confidence, inspire environmental stewardship, and help schools meet their goals. GSA does this by:

GSA programs are developed by member schools, and often in collaboration with public, private and government partners to provide an infrastructure and methodology that quantifies success and expedites change.

GSA recognizes that all schools are different and have unique needs. We provide  a diverse menu of resource opportunities that support schools to meet their individual goals.

GSA invites ALL schools, public, private and independent, member and non-member, to participate in GSA programs.

Become an 'Environmental Leader in Your Own Community.'

GSA students work alongside faculty and administrators, doing everything from quantifying energy and resource consumption, to restoring wetlands. If an environmental club doesn’t exist, students will form one.

Schools connect in person and online to share knowledge and best practices. Through GSA’s programs, schools and students become global leaders in their own communities.
