LETTING OUR SCHOOLS SPEAK:
Stories of Green Practices and Education in Schools
The Green Journal®, a partnership between the GSA and FEEN, is an on-line collection of essays written by faculty, staff and students and searchable by topic, that explores the challenges and opportunities that schools face in their efforts to green their campus and curriculum. This is a living document, and we wll be adding to its content on a regular basis. With the hope that we can help bring about a more peaceful and sustainable world, we look forward to publishing your stories.

History of The Green Journal
First launched in 2010 on the Sidwell Friends website, this collection of essays originally called "Letting our Schools Speak," was developed to describe how Quaker schools are furthering environmental education and sustainable practices in their communities. We saw a glaring need for a forum through which educators committed to environmental stewardship could benefit from each other’s hard-earned experiences.
In 2011, The Green Journal® was created on the GSA website to house this growing collection from a larger audience. We hope that you find something useful and inspiring in The Green Journal®, and we encourage all schools to contribute to this endeavor by sharing your stories with a wider audience.
