Susan is the former Director of Sustainability for Battery Park City where she oversaw the Authority’s Environmental Residential Guidelines that created a standard for green development in Battery Park City and beyond. Susan oversaw the sustainability program of all the buildings in design or construction, which, now totals 5 million square feet of sustainable development, with 20,000 residents and employees. She is the Vice Chair of the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC’s) LEED™ Technical Committee, where she heads the Social Equity Working Group. She is also the former Chair of the Board of Directors of the Urban Green Council--the USGBC NY chapter. Susan has served on the NYC Dept. of Buildings’ Advisory Committee on Sustainability, has worked with NYC’s City Council on evaluating LEED for NYC, and worked with Habitat for Humanity to help make sustainability a standard in their multi-family homes. Susan has presented nationally and internationally on green buildings, and has degrees in Environmental Science and Landscape Architecture.
