Toolkit: Build Your Taskforce
Schools come at sustainability from many directions - ranging from the top-down Commitment of an entire school district to the bottom-up Commitment that starts from a single individual.
A private school with 100 students and several buildings will need a different plan than an urban school with 2,000 students under one roof. A school starting out with "turn-off-the-light" stickers will be different from one that has already installed electric vehicle charging stations under their photovoltaic covered parking. Your sustainability plan will reflect your school's unique needs.
The Sustainability Action Checklist throughout this Toolkit reflects the actions that a school can take (in any order) to build its Taskforce and reduce its footprint. [Schools that complete the Actions marked with an (*) may be eligible for listing in the Princeton Green School Review which is working with the GSA, NAIS and USGBC to identify top K-12 green independent schools.]
