Margaret (Peg) Watson, was the Executive Director of GEO: Global Environmental Options, which she founded in 1994 as the result of her participation in the 1993 Greening of the White House Initiative. One of the country's original green building materials experts, Peg coordinated and participated in numerous Greening Initiatives worldwide from the Greening of the National Parks to the redevelopment of Kobe, Japan. Her recent efforts have focused on projects to help build a secure and sustainable future for children. As President of the Green Schools Alliance, she is working in partnership with other dedicated individuals and organizations to build a world-wide network of Pre-K to 12 schools. Ms. Watson is an architect, environmentalist, writer and mother. She has a BA from Smith College where she studied art and anthropology, a MArch from Columbia University, and completed an internship at The Institute For Architecture and Urban Studies in NYC. She is married to Rob Watson, the “Father of LEED,” and they have an 9 year-old inspiration named Max — her greatest accomplishment.
