Having run a 501(c)3, non-profit since 1997, Lisa brings networking, research and design skills, combined with a strong passion for the environment to GSA. Lisa earned her BA in Asian Studies from Vassar College with a concentration on Eastern Philosophies and Religion, and an MA in Health Arts and Sciences from Goddard College, where she focused on the connections between one's Environment and one's Health.
Lisa and her husband George have a Green Building and Consulting company called Earthaven. Together, they are committed to helping people make decisions that will improve their present quality of life without compromising future generations’ ability to do the same. They believe the basic foundation of a sustainable world is making conscious decisions that take personal, environmental, and cultural impact into consideration.
A mother, of 3 amazing children, Justin, Brian and Tia, Lisa has always felt it's imperative that we work to educate responsible citizens of a changing planet, who recognize and perform their duties and responsibilities as members of the larger human and ecological communities in which we live. For this reason, she lives with her family on a small organic farm in New York’s Hudson Valley, where they learn life’s most valuable lessons from their animals and Nature.
Lisa recently became the Committee Leader for the U.S. Green Building Council’s Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter’s Green Schools Campaign, which is part of their new LEED for Schools initiative.
An Activist, committed to the process of inspiring our culture toward conscious lifestyle practices, Lisa has been actively seeking a way to reach a larger audience. Her education, work experience, passion and identity converge into her true vocation at the Green Schools Alliance. We are living in a pivotal time in the history of our planet, and NOW is the time to act to ensure we have a future. From a strategic standpoint, Lisa cannot think of a better platform than the GSA, from which to make this happen.
